If you have a unique controller for other games, like a racing wheel, if you clear its bindings in this game, you can leave it connected without any issues. If the majority of users have a different default control scheme, we may look into changing it in the future.

We don't have visual representations of the controllers yet, but it works with all of the controllers we tested.
